My first time digital painting in color done in class. I learned something from doing this… all class I worked on this and my professor would come over and show me that I was doing it wrong. This is the first time I have digitally painted the figure from life with a professor standing over me. I would start my way but he would come over and correct me causing me to start it over. *So this piece is only about a 35 minute drawing.* I realized everyone has their own way of working in digital based on what and how they work traditionally. See my preferred mediums are pen, ink wash, acrylic wash, watercolor and rarely gouache. So I tend to work transparently building up with either sketchy lines like this or comic book like line work. My professor *who’s preferred medium is oil* paints digitally JUST like an oil painting! And I can’t oil paint so I can’t think like an oil painter when it comes to digital. And I think it frustrated him as much as it did me that I was unable to paint digitally as if I was painting in oils…
